Bible Time—First Week of December:

Christ is born!!! The children heard the amazing story this week of the birth of Jesus. We discussed how the angel came to Mary who was only 13 years old and told her about the baby that she was going to have. The kiddos got a crash course about a census. This helped them to understand the trip to Bethlehem that left the young couple without lodging on the night Christ was born. We talked about what the manger scene looked like and how the baby was wrapped in cloths that were used to care for the animals. They were amazed to find out that baby Jesus was placed in a food bowl for livestock (a manger) instead of a baby bed. What a lowly birth for the most important baby ever!
