Bible Time Week of January 18th-22nd

This week the fun truly begins as the children really dive into the work that Christ did here on earth. We talked about what Jesus' job was. He did not work at McDonald's or Walmart, He was a teacher and a speaker. The children discussed He got from place to place and if he had any helpers. The students were introduced to the vocabulary words: miracle and disciple. They will hear these terms often over the next couple of months. We explored the story of Peter and how Jesus helped him. The students were sad to hear that Peter had fished and fished all day and did not catch a single fish. They were amazed at the power He has when they found out that Jesus made the net so full of fish that peter could hardly pull in his nets. The kiddos also had a look at faith. They explored how Peter must have felt. He was tired and discouraged from a very bad fishing day. He probably did not want to cast his nets again. He had faith in Jesus! When we do we are never disappointed!
