What a beautiful letter B is! This week we embarked on an adventure to explore the letter B. Fortunately the letter begins many words and this gave us a lot to work with. The children met the Letter Pal, Benny the Bear and learned his theme song. We worked on the correct formation of the letter and are working quite diligently with the spacing that each letter gets on traditional manuscript paper. Our little ones enjoyed many centers this week with this letter. We built bridges with the blocks. The children strung beads and made them into bracelets or necklaces that we attached baby bottles of bubbles to. The kiddos worked with boats (we pretended that they were the Mayflower and they were headed for America) in the water sensory tub. The students painted with balloons and loved the wobbly feel of these weird “brushes”! We continue to work on their handwriting as they move more and more toward independent writing. The sessions of “Write the Room” are very popular.
