Thanksgiving is Coming—Week of November 16-20:

We have so much to be thankful for. Much more than the first settlers who came to America. This week the children learned about the Native Americans and their lives before the Pilgrims came. We found out why the Pilgrims came to America and how hard it was for them once they arrived. The students explored the differences in the lives of the children then and today. A teepee was assembled in the circle time center where we added props like baskets, gourds, dried corn, Indian blankets, a pretend campfire, and several outfits to try on. The children loved becoming Native Americans for the day. We even chose our own Native American names!
