Letter Time- Week of March 15-19

Nyle the Noodle was the silly alpha friend this week. The children met Nyle and learned his song. We are almost to the end of the alphabet now and the children are needing less and less help with their letter work. Their handwriting is looking great (better than mine some days:)! We continue to work on formation and have moved onto inventive spelling. This is often a tough idea for us to accept but it is so important. When your child wants you to spell something for them to write... Try to help them sound out the word. If they don't get the right spelling, don't worry or try to correct them. The purpose is for them to play with sounds and gain confidence. We will worry about spelling later! In honor of the letter H, the children made letter N's with numbers all over them. They had a ball coloring and playing with the noodles we all brought in too! Next week we will meet Larry the Lion!
