Who are the people in your family?

We had a focus on the family this week. The children compared and contrasted their families and found out who had brothers and sisters. We found that many students have a baby at home. We also discussed cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. The kiddos made may things that reflected their family’s uniqueness. We build flowers with our families on them, wrote letters to our family. At the sensory table the children “shaved” laminated daddy faces after drawing whiskers on them. They loved using the shaving cream and popsicle stick shavers. The construction center was busy building houses for families of both people and animals. We also played with the dollhouse and the family people set. The students played with the vocabulary related to animal babies. We talked about calves, piglets, kittens, puppies, foals, and many more.
